| Name: | Nadia Belasis |
|---|---|
| Website: | Midgard - A Ragnarok Online Roleplay |
et cum illi pueri dicerent: Σιβνλλα τι θελεισ, respondebat illa, αποθανειν θελω
n ame: Nadia Belasis
a ge: 20
o rigin: Born in Juno, family moved randomly all over the place so she never really got settled in anywhere long enough to belong
j ob: Crit combo monk (agi/luk)
w eapon: Fist
a ppearance: Nadia’s pale ash blonde hair is cropped off short just below her ears. She has wide, green-brown, dead-leaf eyes, and gives off the impression of someone who was once very pretty. Now she is mousy and demure. Nadia does not consider herself attractive at all, and has ceased to identify herself with femininity. She is very scrawny and only about 5’3” tall, with spindly legs and angular arms. In fact, Nadia does not fit the typical muscular monk picture. Her strength, if she has any, comes from her soul. Not that she’s too convinced yet on that, either. She is very easy to overlook, and she has a slight slouch.
Her PB is Suu from Clover.
b ackground: Nadia was the stereotypical unwanted third child. Her parents were too busy to raise her; her brothers several years older than her. She grew up a rebellious child, looking for love wherever and however she could. Abusive relationships became the norm for her, and she was well into promiscuity and alcoholism by her early teenage years. By 15, she seemed hopelessly lost. She became pregnant and was forced to give the child up (partially by financial difficulties and partially by her own guilt). Following a house fire at home that she set herself, Nadia fled. Following that and terrified to return, she wandered aimlessly, seeking to fill the void.
She could have easily ended up as a thief or some miscreant in the slums of Morroc, had she traveled into the desert. Instead, Nadia went northeast of Prontera, and stumbled upon the Saint Capitolina Abbey. She found solace there, in the least likely of places, and began to straighten herself out.
Nadia is still very new to the concept of monkhood, and has yet to find the inner peace necessary to become successful. After finishing her preliminary studies at the monastery, she took a vow of silence, which she promptly broke. Leaving the Abbey, Nadia went out into the Midgard wilderness, where she has been living in seclusion for the past several months. She chopped off her long, luxurious hair and abandoned life among civilization.
o6/o6 - Nadia traveled back to Juno and reclaimed her son. He now lives with her.
p ersonality: Over the years, Nadia has become an extremely reserved individual. She is mournful and quite resigned. It is nearly impossible for her to trust others, and she isn’t fond of conversing. Nadia cannot find the strength to forgive herself for her past actions, which has lead to her ultimate depression. She will be unable to move on until she finds a way to overcome her self-loathing. When in the company of others, Nadia can come off as very cold and dispassionate, which is mostly the truth. She has distanced herself from emotion just enough that it hardly registers with her.
l ikes: winter, waterfalls, writing, cats
d islikes: herself, other people, cities
o rientation: Asexual for all means and purposes
m arital s tatus: Single.
f amily: Mother, father, two brothers—all presumed deceased. Aunt—living, though she never met her. Son, Alexei, 5
l anguages: Basic, fluent; some more common, spoken phrases in Midgardian; Mildly proficient in Schwarzwaldern (she's practicing)
o ccupation: Currently a hermit seeking enlightenment
h ome: No permanent residence, but she currently resides in an abandoned vacation lodge.
o ther: These are not typical monk conventions, but Nadia follows such stereotypical rules in hopes of finding her inner strength.
She talks to herself often, a side effect of being by herself for a long time. While she is not really “insane,” Nadia’s pretty disjointed and not all there.
